Delete Account

The account-deletion panel on /dashboard/settings. It is the only irreversible action in the product, and the only one whose existence a document promises: /privacy states that deletion is self-serve, immediate and complete.

Collapsed, then confirmed

Two states in one component. Collapsed it is a warning plus one button, so the destructive path is never one stray click away. Expanded it asks for the word DELETE typed exactly — the disabled button is a courtesy, the server action re-checks the phrase. Inline rather than a modal: the product has no dialog primitive, and its one hand-rolled modal has no focus trap. Since the button and the form never coexist, expanding moves keyboard focus onto the confirmation input and Cancel moves it back onto the "Delete account" button — neither is left stranded on `<body>`. Shown at 672px, the width the settings page gives it.
